hosting a friend resolution issue

does anyone know why when i host for a friend where i have 1920 x 1080 my friend has a laptop that goes by the 1366 x 768 resolution the mouse pointer on screen works but when trying to click a button in game he has to click it from a mile away if that makes sense how do i fix it ?
