Grandfather clock often skips chimes and gets out of sync.
Post Body

I recently (8 months ago) inherited a grandfather clock. The clock is well over 30 years old.

It's worked perfecly for since I got it until recently. The first thing I noticed is that the hourly chime quite often, but not always, happens at 1/4 after the hour. I've also noted that sometimes at 3/4 hour and the top of the hour there is no chime at all.

Is there something I should look for or do I need to have a clockmaker look at it?
