Adding controlled meds to your medkit
Post Body

So I was just perscribed more hydrocodone than I want, and I don't want to sell it which means it will go unused. I have had two incidents in the past few years that were civilian rescue and a hydrocodone would have made the ordeal better for the victim. Each time it was ~2 hours before getting to cell service to call SAR. This would be the only circumstance in which I would consider giving it to anyone else. I don't have my WFR yet, or any other certification that would allow me to perscribe meds.

What do you think/know reddit? Is this a huuuuuuuge no-no? Is giving one to a hiker with a broken leg in the Indian Peaks "ok"?
