Hey girls :)
2 years ago, I was introduced in climbing by a PT during rehabilitation after surgery. I immediately liked it. I started a course and got hooked. A few of my friends also climb and i got some people hooked hehe. A year ago my health issues came back and I had 30 rounds of radiation, which affected my energy levels for some time.
Despite the last 2 years being tough on my health, I tried to keep climbing as much as possible. However I seem to be stuck and not really improving. I do have spinal cord injury so I don't progress as fast as others, but I expect to at least progress a bit... recently I went climbing in the Belgian ardennes and I realized I really want to improve my skills faster!
I climb once a week, and I visit the gym 2-3 times a week, where I practice my pull-ups (by pullup assist and lat pulldown), I train my legs, core and I do some cardio.
I'm not progressing. I am barely getting stronger, despite having a training schedule.. I am just not able to lift more. I am looking for some serious advice. How can I really get stronger? How did you do it? If I can manage to do 1 pull-up by the end of the year, I would be absolutely thrilled. Any help would be immensely appreciated!
And also, what is a normal improvement to expect? If I lift weights, should I add up 1lb each week or more or less?
