Hello! Spurs fan, I'm going to omit the cringe "I come in p...."
This is one for slightly older Cavs fans as I need you to cast your minds back a couple decades...what was it like psychologically when you drafted Lebron? Obviously over the moon, he's expected to be great yada yada, but did you ever worry he'd be a bust or that he'd get injured? With Lebron that seemed less of a concern as I remember it, but for Wembanyama there is a chance he doesn't pan out as great as people expect whether it be his game (excellent in some facets, average in others), or his physique (obvious concerns).
I'm thrilled we have him, grateful as I know how lucky the Spurs have been with these #1 picks, but I'm not nearly as bullish as many Spurs fans seem to be that we have a sure thing, an amazing, long term player.
So back to the question...did you just go all in and think, yep, we have a great! Or were you a bit more "wait and see" to avoid disappointment?
