Auburn University won't accept CLEP exams?

I'm helping my younger cousin prep for college for Fall 2024, and today we discovered that Auburn University doesn't accept CLEP exams, which is disappointing since he already has 6 CLEP credits and was planning on getting as many as possible before starting next year.
So how common is it that universities won't accepting CLEP credits?
