Hello~,
I'm very new to the whole world of Clay, Ceramics, and Molds. However, I'd like to dip my toes into it and give it a shot. I have questions, however, and I would appreciate any and all help I can get! I have not yet started anything with Clay, as I wanted to get information before I did.
Firstly - My goal is to work and make clay miniatures - similar ones found on tabletop games such as D&D. I would ALSO like to use these miniatures, and make Molds out of them - to then make more durable plastic figures out of the molds.
So, with that knowledge.. Suggestions? I'd like to get a personal, small kiln, as I don't really want to get the self-drying Clay. I think using a kiln would be better for this, but I could be wrong - I'm quite ignorant and lacking knowledge on the subject. However, my primary concern is on the mold making. I really don't want to have ceramic miniatures sliding and breaking on the game table - being able to cast them in plastic would be fantastic. But I'd also like to keep the quality as best I can - I don't want to put hours and hours into detailing a miniature, only to have hardly any details to come out in the mold.
So please - any and all help and suggestions would be very much appreciated!
