Favorite: The Barrons. Lots of nostalgia here for me. I’ve always played horde and this zone just feels horde AF. The ambient sound track is just amazing - makes me want to pierce my tooth, move in to a tusk and leather hut IRL. I was on a PvP server in that era and this was before min maxing and game mastery killed lower level gameplay. So when I started to see alliance for the first time in this zone it added a sense of danger which really enhanced the experience. My nostalgia for this zone is likely a factor but I feel like it is just a masterpiece of horde concept.
Least favorite: Azshara. I mean if I were doing a Drake tour, sure it’s a beautiful zone. But it feels like such a side note. Low quest density. Terrible terrain to navigate. So much swimming. The whole time I just get the feeling of “Why am I here right now?” Or “Why couldn’t they just PUT A BRIDGE OR TWO in here?” It’s like they had the zone built and mapped out and just ran out of lore/quests/content which they needed real estate for.
