Best class to level with prot paladin?

Post Body

I'm planning to dual box when classic comes out. My main will be a prot paladin (female dwarf with pig tails), and I want to dual box a healing class that will support my paladin. I'm not sure which class for the healer though, so I'm looking for feedback here. My thoughts are:

  1. Druid. This seems like the best class to support a prot paladin. Thorns will supplement the paladin's reactive damage. Mark of the wild is a nice buff to armor and all stats. Hurricane can be used when AOE grinding mobs. Innervate is available to refresh mana on either the paladin or the druid as needed.

  2. Paladin. Seems like a decent runner up to druid. Could double up on auras and blessings. Retribution aura and devotion aura seems like the obvious choice for auras. Blessing of sanctuary and blessing of kings seems like the best blessing combination. Maybe switch out kings with wisdom is mana is an issue. Flash heal spam is the best single target heal in the game, so it should be easy to keep the tanking pally up when fighting multiple mobs. Can use double consecration when aoe grinding.

  3. Priest. Fortitude and divine spirit are relatively weak buffs. No aoe damage spell, so can't supplement aoe grinding very well. This seems like a pretty bad class to match up with a prot paladin.

What do you guys think? It seems like the debate is really paladin vs. druid.
