Today I left the guild I've been raiding with basically since wotlk launched. It was honestly incredibly upsetting. I never raided for the parses or the loot, I raided for them. I loved shooting the shit with all the people I struggled through the worst content with all this time. They were my friends and I'll miss them all.
So why did I leave? Leadership decided to restructure and use less healers. Our very next raid after our ultimate victory of heroic Lich King, they dropped the bomb on me that they would be pursuing speed kills for parses this week and 3 healing. This was no fault of my own I did fine and helped us secure that kill with no issues. But I was to be dropped.
Obviously I found this unfair. This was dropped on me last minute and I was shocked. I helped you kill the Lich King and this was my reward? But, wanting to keep playing with my friends I offered my dps alt. Of a class they're currently looking for. How perfect! Unfortunately, despite 18 months of great history together, it was decided that my parses, of all things weren't sufficient to even trial. My shitty parses that are fucked anyway from raiding exclusively with shitty pugs and gdkp. All that history couldn't even get me a blind eye fair trial that your average player off the street would get.
My point of this post, is that while parses are super cool and everyone loves getting the big numbers, I'd like people to take a step back, remember the relationships you've built with your guild, the friends you've found, and remember that you should sometimes step back from your parsing and appreciate the people you raid with. Cause sometimes they really appreciate being with you whether you realize it or not.
This is just shit guild "leadership." You don't just permanently bench one healer, wtf? You rotate, you dense bastards.
