Ok so we all know we’ll never get a fully hardcore server. There just isn’t enough interest for it to be financially viable. I personally am not into the community-based hardcore modes because I want to fully play my character in tact and don’t want to be limited (not knocking it - I love that it exists it’s just not for me.)
What if they added an option for hardcore mode in select servers and instanced these characters to a dedicated layer (layer H1 for example). These players would be able to participate in the AH and economy fully, but would only play with other hardcore players.
This wouldn’t give you the purity of an economy which is untouched by the robustness which immortality brings. But it’s a solution that would require very limited outlay by blizzard and offer a built in hardcore game mode.
You have to think of things from a business standpoint. The only way we’re getting a built in hardcore mode is if it costs next to nothing.
Curious on thoughts!
