So I have to confess, I have wanted a classic mini going on 20 years at least. Being an American you rarely ever get to see these at car shows, much less see them on the road. Over the past 20 years it has turned into an obsession so much so that it is hard to even look at them.
However, the biggest think holding me back is a question. How is it to live with one? Is it one of those things that you should never meet your heros, or do they live up to the legend of them?
I am not afraid of repairs, I know my way around cars and have lots of experience with old German cars. I also have tons of tools, though they mostly are metric so I'll have to get some imperial stuff.
I have been looking at the Japanese market Minis simply for A/C. I live in desert where can regular to get over 100° (38°C) during the summer months. Though A/C optional it'll just make life a little bit better. I will also be looking to build a 1275 A fast road to keep up with the 80mph traffic around here.
So Mini's in general, how are they to live with as a semi daily driver?
