My top 10 favorite classical music , just my preference
Post Body

I have always love Christmas classical music, because only in the last two week of December I can hear them from my local classical music station, there are some of them specifically only in Christmas time the station will play, and after 25 December, you won't hear them anymore. I love variety of classical music, from modern to baroque , so here are some my top 10 Christmas classical including pop classical. There are not order , all are my favorite.

  1. John Williams Boston pop classical Christmas music and including " home alone " theme songs I really like John Williams, he has put a lot of Christmas hymn and modern music together, many times the station will play a John Williams Christmas medley by Boston pop , and the theme song of home alone like " somewhere in my memory" is always my childhood memory of that movie and I believe who doesn't like home alone in Christmas time ? I know I have watched too many times I can't count.

  2. Nutcracker suites by Tchaikovsky. Well I can listen this so many times, all 8 of them . even they are not only playing in Christmas time but it reminds me Christmas when I listened to nutcracker, especially I love the last dance , is it called flower dance ? Love it so much always gives me goosebumps, and sure how can miss the famous singer plum fairy .

  3. Old coral from Canada I live in Canada, one of the oldest coral is "Huron coral " compost in 1624 by jean de brebeuf , it is the oldest coral in north America and give you a glimpse of how the 16 century French and indigenous music like .

  4. Two overture - Handel Messiah and John Golland Handel is my favorite composer and the intro of "Messiah" I would say one of the best descriptions of " Baroque" in a 1:40 second when the violins john in, you would be so moved by the music, so rich and so beautiful, so emotional, so wonderful. John Golland is one of the English composer and his Christmas overture is using all different instruments from drums and trumpet , and put all my favorites hymns together like I come o come Emanuel and all come all yee faithful, one of the best modern Christmas overture

  5. Waxford coral - this is a rare classical carol , originally from an Ireland folk song ,dating back to 12 century , the music was later compose in 15 or 16 century, it is very different then modern classical music, it has a " Celtic " vibe in it, it is very spiritual uplifting and still singing till today.

  6. Bach , the Christmas oratorio and Jesu joy of men's desiring. The Christmas oratorio has 6 part and one of the great Christmas festivals pics. Bach in Weimar the first year about 1714 he compost Jesu joy of men's desiring, , It is always beautiful and actually not only in Christmas but many times you can hear this pics, love the choir or purely instrument playing.

  7. Veni veni Emanuel in Latin or O come O come Emanuel , the old hymn dating back 1200 years ago written in Latin, every time you listen this song, or sing this song, you can imagine yourself singing in a dark age mid century monastic style.well you can also can hear some modern version like the piano guys .

  8. Once in royal David 's city, I sang and played this little Christmas coral when I was little and always has the feeling with it, untill now I still love this very quiet and beautiful song. the original text was a poem by an English/Irish female poet and hymn writer Cecil Frances Alexander .the name of the poem is " hymn for little children" , she also wrote a song called " all things bright and beautiful" ( if you like John rutter ), this poem later been discovered by Organist gauntlet and set into music

  9. Fantasia on Greensleeves by Ralph Vaughan Williams, this is usually sung by " what child is this " in Christmas, an English folk song originally from 16 century ,and the lyrics what child is this from 1865 by William C Dix, this quiet, timeless Carol just so beautiful and always brings a beautiful picture.

  10. Handel "Messiah" If you ask me if I can only pick one classical music I will listen or sing or play on my piano in Christmas time, the answer is " Messiah" this baroque masterpiece has 3 part , talking about the prediction of Jesus birth to his suffer to resurrection, everything in this book , from the overture in the beginning to comfort yee, all the velly ,for unto us a child is born, hallelujah chorus, worthy is the lamb are just can't use any word described, it is a timeless masterpiece, I don't know how many times I had tears on my ears just listening or singing all the pieces , i just love so much Handel and all his creation and I also sing Tenor and Bass , it us always, always moves me .
