Why do you study classical Chinese?

Hi I'm a native Mandarin Chinese speaker and I'm starting to study 文言. The textbook I use is 古代漢語 by 王力. The reason I study 古文 is because I need to improve my knowledge in Chinese so that I could be a better translator. Also, I think even just studying 古文 with no specific aims is an pleasurable experience in itself, especially 舊體詩 and 散文. Could you tell me which book you're using and why you study classical Chinese? Feel free to tell me a bit about your experience.
