Lodish: What username were you most known by on CivClassics?
Ahri: Ahrimanne, but everyone calls me Ahri
L: Did you have other alts that were public?
A: Not public enough to put them on the wiki :thOwOnking:
L: What was your first civ server?
A: I played a couple hours of late 2.0, but never really did much besides walking around exploring the cities. I really started playing Civtemp, February 2016
L: What other civ iterations have you played?
A: I played all the "main" servers since, Civcraft 3.0, Devoted 3.0, Classics, a bit of Realms, then Classics again. A ton of other minor, short lived servers
L: What got you into Civ?
A: This post https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/29wrty/railway_map_of_a_server_with_15k_radius_and/
L: What was your first nation that you joined?
A: The FSR (communists)
L: What citizenships have you had, which do you currently have?
A: FSR, Concordia, Gensokyo, Hjaltland, Aquila, MTA), MTS, Norlund, Hallow, Gabon. As of the end of CC, Gensokyo, Hjaltland and Gabon
L: What would you consider your greatest achievement on a civ server? A: Most influential would be bringing MTA to Classics after Devoted died. Greatest for me are reforming Gensokyo over the years, and helping beat NATO
L: What do you think most people know you for?
A: Probably my mayorships in MTA, my tenure as superfriend and just being around in the background for 6 years
L: Were you politically active on Civ? If so, what positions of power have you held?
A: Royal Council in Gensokyo, Judge, Diplomat and Mayor in MTA, Lord's Council in Gabon
L: Who was the most influential person in your nation and what did they do?
A: Gensokyo was very horizontal, but Topaz was probably most relevant, being the main architect. In MTA, it changed all the time, but usually the mayor
L: Where did you spend most of your time on CivClassics? Where did you live on CivClassics?
A: I was all over the place, but I guess the only house I ever built was in MTA, by the Canal
L: What was an event you were involved with that you remember well?
A: The final assault on the NATO vaults, I mostly worked on building the bunkers and skybridges for Hallow and HJE. Also, breaking into Corvus by accident, finding the dupe machine and tons of compacted glazed terracotta, magma blocks, and every other random block you could think of
L: Were you ever involved in conflict with other players or nations?
A: I've fought in 5 wars, Diet vs Aegis in Civtemp, Uguu vs Veritas and the 1st Chimera war in Dev 3.0, Somber war and Infinity war (on both sides!) for CC
L: What are your contact details (reddit, discord, etc. if public) ?
A: /u/Ahrimanazu , Ahri#9297
L: How did the culture and politics of the nations you’ve been a part of on civclassics compare (Gensokyo MTA, MTS and Hallow right?) ?
A: Gensokyo and Gabon were very chill, relaxed places, mostly just a core group of friends. MTA varied a lot depending on the period, the NUP gang wars in particular were fun but a complete mess. Overall the people were much more independent, there wasn't the same feeling of a close-knit group. Hallow was interesting because I didn't know most of the people very well, other than talking a bit over text. The culture was "edgier" I guess, but not excessively so, at least during my time there. It was very much top-down, with Hantzu calling the shots.
L: As a part of NATO (via Hallow) what infinity war events were you involved with before you declared your disassociation?
A: Not much, I defended Sempiternal on the first attack, had a couple skirmishes with Mir, and got pearled trying to reinforce Sempiternal during the second attack. After that I checked out of the war, went back to Gensokyo, which was becoming active again, and I stayed neutral for 6 months until the Entente joined the war
L: Did you receive any backlash for leaving, or having once been a part of Hallow?
A: Not much, a couple comments but nothing important. Most of the people I'd known on hallow had left or quit.
L: How did the Entente compare to Nato?
A: The people in the Entente felt a lot more approachable, and by that time NATO had turned quite more outwardly hostile and toxic to the community than when I was part of it.
L: You’re soon to be an admin on CivMC, have you ever had previous admin experience on a minecraft server?
A: No admin experience, only a couple years as superfriend and a lot of thinking and discussions about civ mechanics
L: As mayor of MTA what policies or changes did you enact? Did you ever run for mayor again?
A: The main reforms I pushed through were Ranked voting and the Cabinet system (later renamed Cupboard) I served 3 inconsecutive terms
L: You were with Gensokyo on civcraft (Symphonia and Florida?), what did you get up to there and how did it compare with the civclassics Gensokyo?
A: No, I joined Gensokyo in CivTemp. Regardless, Gensokyo in 2016 was a lot different to 2017 onwards. Mostly because of Screenname, who made the foreign policy very erratic, introduced strange confederate themes into the nation, and promoted factionalism and court intrigue which caused me a lot of headaches trying to defuse. That said, it was thanks to Screenname's strange decision to adopt me into the Royal Family and appoint me as heir the same day I joined Genso that I was able to quickly climb into a position of relevance within the nation.
L: Thank you very much, I appreciate all the answers
