CivRedemption Plugin Guide
Post Body

Hello Civcrafters!

This is a comprehensive text guide of the civ-plugins. There is no need to know them all! But you should know about Namelayer and Exile Pearl at the very least. Generally speaking, the guide covers plugins from most important downward. Link to video guide. In time, the video guide will be expanded.

Citadel and Namelayer:

You can protect your buildings and chests with Citadel/Namelayer reinforcements. Firstly, you need to create a Namelayer “group” to reinforce to. There is a graphical interface to manage namelayer groups, as well as set of commands.

Run the command: /nlcg [group name] to create a namelayer group.

Now you can hold one of the three reinforcement types (stone, iron, diamond) and type /ctr [group name]. You are now in reinforcement mode, and every block you punch will be reinforced to your group. This means that other players will have to break your reinforced blocks repeatedly for the block to actually be removed. This offers some protection against raiders and griefers.

To exit reinforcement mode type /cto.

You can add another player to your group. You can do this by simply running the command “/nlip [group name] [player name] MEMBER”

By default, a member can only access chests and doors. A moderator can access chests, doors, bypass reinforcements to break reinforced blocks instantly, and add members. An admin can add both moderators and members. Owners can manage the entire group and have unlimited power, including the ability to delete the entire group. Use caution when picking which rank to add players to!

You can simply replace “MEMBER” in the above example with one of the other rank types.

To promote (or demote) a player to a different rank, type /nlpp [group name] [player name] [their new rank]

To remove a player type /nlrm [group name] [player name]

To see which group a block is reinforced to, type /cti and punch it. To return back to normal mode type /cto.

To access the gui, simply type /nl

Exile Pearl

Exile pearl is a plugin that allows you to imprison other players, either partially or totally limiting their ability to play in the overworld.

To imprison another player, you use pearls. Simply have a pearl in your hotbar, and kill another player, and you will imprison them. Put their pearl in a chest, and that player won’t be able to come within 1000 blocks of it.

Exile-pearled players cannot use combat.

If you are pearled, type /ep locate to find the location of where your pearl is. You can tell your friends where your pearl is, and they may try to break you out.

Exile pearls can be upgraded to prison pearls. Prison pearls totally banish the imprisoned player into the end dimension. /ep upgrade to upgrade a pearl.

It costs mana to fuel a pearl. If a pearl is not fueled, it will break, and the player will be free. To check a pearl’s fuel status, hover over the pearl.

Pearls can be refueled by simply crafting them with mana, an item that you earn automatically by logging in.

Hidden Ore

Hiddenore is a plugin that generates ore as you mine. Ore is not generated into the map at the start of the world by default.

As you mine, ores such as iron, gold, and the rest, will generate, and you will be able to break them.

Certain ores, like diamonds, spawn in rare but large veins. There are anywhere from 20 diamond ore to over 100 diamond ore in each vein. If you find a diamond underground, you will get the message “You sense a diamond nearby”. Keep digging around to find more diamonds in that spot. Try to figure out the shape of the diamond vein. Maybe you struck it right on the edge, or maybe you dug straight into it.

Obsidian ore is a special ore type that can be used in factory mod to make obsidian blocks. Obsidian ore should not be smelted directly in a furnace. Instead, use it in a Basic Iron Forge factory.

Juke Alert

Juke Alert logs player activity near snitch blocks. This information can be used to find raiders and griefers.

Juke alert is a plugin that allows you to make snitch blocks. A snitch block can be made by reinforcing a jukebox. Once the jukebox is reinforced to a group, you will be prompted to name the snitch. You can change this name by standing next to it and typing /janame [snitch name].

The jukebox snitch will log the activity of players who are not on the namelayer group that the jukebox is reinforced to. If a player who is not on the group walks near it, you will get a message. You can disable this (or enable it again) by running /jamute [group name].

If a player who is not on the group breaks blocks, or kills someone, the jukebox snitch will also log that activity. To view the logs type either /ja or /jainfo.

Snitches can also be made by simply reinforcing noteblocks. Noteblock snitches does not log any player activity. But, noteblock snitches do tell you in chat when a player walks past it.

The range of snitch blocks is 11 blocks in each direction, forming a cube (a 23x23x23 cube of snitch coverage).

If a snitch block is broken, all of its logs are lost forever.

Factory Mod

Factory mod is a plugin to mass produce items at a super low cost, or make items that otherwise can’t be acquired.

I strongly suggest you watch the factory mod video to get a solid understanding of navigating the interface.

A factory is made by placing a furnace, then to the right of the furnace, a crafting table, then to the right of the crafting table, a chest/double-chest.

Type /fm to enter into the factorymod list. Here you can see a list of factories that you can make. Click on any of the factories. Here, you can view the creation cost (on the left). On the right, you can see the different recipes that the factory has. Click on any of the items displayed on the right to see the recipe in-full.

To return to a previous page, simply click the arrow item at the bottom of the interface.

Once you are ready to create the factory, put the starting materials in the chest, punch the crafting table with a stick, and then your factory is created – assuming that you put in the right materials in the right amounts.

Now that your factory is created, punch the crafting bench with a stick to select a recipe for that factory. Click whichever recipe you want to use. Then, put charcoal in the factory’s furnace, and punch it with a stick. Now your factory should be actively producing your recipe! To turn it off, simply punch the furnace with a stick. Beware not to break the factory, as it may cause damage and disrepair.

Realistic Biomes and Experience Production

Bottles of experience are highly sought after. With them, you can enchant pickaxes, swords, armor, and much more. Experience isn’t earned by killing mobs or smelting ore (as it is in default Minecraft). Instead, experience is earned by creating it in an Experience Factory with crops.

Experience bottles can be crafted into emeralds, and emeralds can be crafted into emerald blocks. Emeralds can be crafted back into experience bottles as well. Emeralds do not spawn as ore, and are used exclusively as experience.

Crops grow at certain rates in certain biomes. To view the speed at which a crop grows in the biome that you are standing in, either (1. Punch the group with that crop to see the growth time in chat) or (2. Type /rb to see a graphical list of each crop’s growth rate in the biome that you’re in)

Crops grow slowly! So be sure to plant many of them. Crops can be harvested and replanted quicky using a scythe, a special tool made in the Basic Iron Forge. A scythe harvests and replants a 3x3 of farmland when it is used.

Item Exchange

Item exchange is a plugin that allows you to make shops. Simply put in a chest the input in the top right corner, and the output in the chest slot to the right of that item, then look at the chest and type /iec.

Aether Potions

Potions are not made in brewing stands. Instead, they are made in factories. There are two factories for potions (1. An alchemy research factory) and (2. A potion production factory). By running the “Crack Research Kit” in an alchemy factory, you have a chance to get a potion schematic. Potion schematics are reusable and can be used in a potion production factory to make potions. Some potions have multiple effects.
