I’m pretty fresh (graduated 2020) and have only one year working for a GC in CM. I enjoy my team and project I am apart of overall at the moment. I however am unsure of the trajectory of this firm going forward (5 years with a solid reputation thus far but that’s solely tied to the State DOT). Ultimately I’m looking for experienced advice regarding the job hunt in CM. Pros/ Cons of GC vs Developers. From what I’ve read developers view positions that provide technical construction knowledge as just another expense. Fair, that’s what comes with financiers etc. I just naively don’t really see the difference between groups like that and GCs who are also in this business to profit. Please, someone who knows more than my green ass provide me with some insight I have surely overlooked.
