Advice needed for a Brazilian Civil Engineering graduate with no experience, living in the US.

Post Body

When I was 17, as soon as I finished high school, I went to college for Civil Engineering in Brazil, in an average private college. Fast forward 6 years (I needed one extra year than the usual 5 because of subjects I had failed) and I graduated and got my bachelor's degree.

I was the type of student to study just enough to pass my tests. The only subjects I actually enjoyed during college, were the ones heavier on calculus and physics. Reading/learning about construction techniques did not interest me at all.

I had a 1 year internship in an Engineering Firm. In which I was assisting with CAD drawings of geometry, paving and drainage projects of highways and urban areas. I actually did enjoy doing that. I am good with computers and I was good with CAD. I learned concepts easily and have always been a very curious person. So, despite not really enjoying my time at college, I hold some hope because I did enjoy my internship and the work I did there.

Now here's what happened. As soon as I finished college in Brazil, me and my family moved to the US. Brazil was in shambles economically, and the move made sense. My English was quite good for a non-native speaker and now, after 5.5 years of living in the US, I have acquired my work permit and Permanent Resident Card.

For those 5.5 years, I worked as a driver, server, and then, for about 3.5 years as a restaurant general manager. Working as a GM helped me build my confidence, problem-solving, communication in english, and overall level of responsibility in life.

Now, with my work permit and GC, I feel like more opportunities have opened up for me.

I managed to save up about 45k and I wish to use that money, while working part time, to partially fund my studies and help me get a career for myself.

My question is, does anyone have any type of advice of what to do next? I feel like I could use my Brazilian Degree as a entry key to pursue a Master's in a specific subject here in the US. The reality is though, I have no experience at all and 95% of what I learned during college I have already forgotten.

Edit: Some additional info - I live in Sonoma County, California. I'm 29 years old. I'd be willing to relocate within the US. I have family in Fort Myers, FL, that are willing to have me live with them in case I needed to save up rent money to help fund studies.
