Hello! New to this sub, hopefully will stick around for awhile and make something special of this all. I was an AFJROTC cadet all through high school so I'm already familiar with how CAP and the USAF in general functions and have worn the same uniforms I'd need to wear for CAP before.

Unfortunately my dream of being in the Air Force didn't quite work out and I was enlisted in the Army for just about 2 years before I got med boarded, now at 100 percent rating. Been a little while since I've worn a uniform, not sure if CAP is gonna be right for me or not because I've already got concerns about encampment. I could do it, that much I know, but I have some physical limitations like not being able to run hardly at all. I was on profile for it and had a modified APFT in the army before I even got med boarded and was gonna stay in long term with that accommodation since I was just a forklift driver lol

Sorry for droning on, but if any other veteran cadets have some answers as to what the process of joining as a retired E3 would be like I'd really appreciate it. I don't expect any advance rank, but I know I have some ability to lead at least at an element/squad level and could do okay with that if asked. Would just be happy to wear the uniform again and have a sense of purpose, see what opportunities are there through CAP. Heck I still have an unused GI Bill if nothing else even if my career options are mostly limited to business ownership now. 😅
