Pretty big news. I did some mucking around with spawn events and custom crafting recipes to bring some of the key features of the Nether to our world without actually opening it up.

Here's how to get the things:

Netherrack: Smooth stone Redstone (Shapeless)

Netherwart: Brown Mushroom Red Mushroom (Shapeless)

Ghast Tear: 5 gold blocks water bottle (Shapeless)

Quartz: Smelt glass in a furnace

Scroll of Identity: Eye of ender in lower left corner, with 3 books: above, above-right, and right.

Blazes, magma cubes, and pig men should all spawn naturally in the world now.

Other changes:

• Fixed a bug where you global chat

• Removed the ability to place hoppers beneath chests

• Slight tweaks

• Removed lightning-modified equipment from spawning
