Plots for higher class housing have been created. In celebration of these new plots, I thought I'd outline our build code again in a little more detail and explain how they work:
==Nation Wide Laws==
Goodsprings is a desert themed town. A nation that worships and protects the desert.
All buildings built in the town and territory of Goodsprings must honour the desert in some way.
To honor the desert the building must feature at least one of the following in its design:
Sand, sandstone and all of its variants.
Acacia wood and all of its variants.
Stained hardened clay, in either yellow, orange, green, red, blue.
Wool of those same colours.
Stained glass of those same colours, plus white.
Cactus, acacia leaves.
Gold block, redstone block, Lapis block.
To satisfy this rule, one must make a decent effort in featuring one of these in the design. (A few blocks of sandstone in your basement is not enough, for example)
===Town Wide Laws====
(Note: Story is defined as 4 blocks from Ground level)
No building over two stories can be built within 30 blocks of the Goodsprings Temple walls.
No Building over four stories can be built within 60 blocks of the Goodsprings Temple walls.
No Building over six stories can be built in the Town of Goodsprings.
No property may go further than 4 stories below ground.
Exceptions:
These height rules are semi-flexible. For example; if your build goes 2 blocks over the limit but only in a few places, or it is not a large part of the building, it may be allowed. Will be judged on a case by case basis, by the Construction Councillor.
Certain approved Public works, may be voted on to be higher than usually allowed.
Buildings built before these rules were implemented (implementation date: 16/07/2014), such as Castle Black.
Bedrock access, if needed, can be requested and negotiated on.
==Property Laws and Rights==
Rules for Free housing:
Every member of Goodsprings is given a free home upon joining. This is a pre-built house. This house can be customised as the owner wishes. The building however must not exceed two stories above ground and one below. The original dimensions of the building, 7x7, is the plot size.
[Warning; These houses are not initially protected, so that users can remake them. Remember to protect your house and chests, including floors!]
Rules for other property:
Once you are ~Sapling rank~ you are able to buy bigger housing plots. These vary in price depending on size, location and shape. Contact Construction Councillor for a quote on the plot you want.
You must be a citizen of Goodsprings to buy these housing plots. Non Goodspringers can still rent these plots. (They would effectively be the owner, as long as they kept up payments. Rent would be weekly, and negotiated on. Failure to pay rent two weeks in a row will force the council to seize the plot and anything you've built on it.)
Commercial, Agricultural and Private business plots can also be bought, for businesses, organizations and farming purposes. These plots too, vary in price depending on size and location.
One does not need to be part of Goodsprings to buy a business plot or market stall, however it is cheaper for Goodspringers.
All property is discounted for ~Acacia rank~ and ~Cactus rank~ citizens.
If you want a building in a location that hasn't been plotted yet, Arrange a viewing by the Construction Councillor to see if it is suitable for building upon, and a price will be discussed.
All property is protected by Goodsprings laws and Goodsprings Defence.
Upon inactivity of more than a month, your property is relinquished to the town and Council of Goodsprings. With which it may be taken down, changed, sold, ect. (If given prior notice of inactivity such as; "I'm going to space for 3months, I'll see you after then." You keep your property rights until that agreed upon time, after which the above rule still applies)
==Misc stuff==
General rules for plot placing:
Plots must be one or two blocks off the road. Nothing built directly on the road.
Plots generally should be 3-4 blocks separated from other plots.
==Closing Statement==
Any building in violation of the above laws will be issued with a warning. If within the next 2 days, it has not been changed to be within building regulations, it can and will be seized by the Council.
Aaaaaand I'm done. Any suggestions, questions, troubles, please voice them, thanks. -DJDAV1D, Construction Councillor.
