An Op-Ed Published in the Icenian Daily Caller
Vaults take a lot of wealth and time to construct properly. It requires an industrial base of exp, truckloads of diamonds and iron, a knowledge of botting obsidian, beacons, plenty of pickaxes, and bastion components. For all intents and purposes, a well designed vault is the pinnacle of achievement in Civ.
Not only that, but once you have a vault you have to keep it, stock it, work on traps, make a well made EZ, and fuel any pearls that you may have in it. It requires spreadsheets, attention to fine detail, and a base knowledge of the current PvP meta.
The point is: vaults and defensive infrastructure take a lot of time and effort to build and a lot of time and effort to maintain.
Currently, all pearled players have to do in order to be freed is log in in many cases to drain their mana. This takes less than an hour to do, yet many don't do it. As a result, people stay pearled longer.
I ask this question: why should inactivity be rewarded?
