I believe that due to recent events and circumstances, I need to define my position in the current ongoing conflict between Corvus and others. As I am someone who wishes to focus on building a city, rather than constantly running from raiders I wish for a peaceful and swift conclusion. I do, however, want my grievances to be known and understood.

Around a year ago, there was a push in the Impasse discord for a way to bring back the community that once was. There were various mentions of tearing down large sections of Old Impasse in order to build anew, but I was against that plan as it reminded me too much of what happened when Orion did the same near the end of Civcraft 2.0. I and several others decided it was a better option to build a new city near Old Impasse, close enough to use the old factories, but far enough away to build freely. I decided to draw up a few sketches of road layouts for the city, one of which the city was based on (The V shape in the roads, with horizontal roads to compliment). This was of importance to me due to my interest in city planning, and possibility of using it as a minor in college. The new city brought people back, around eight or so from the Impasse crowd with a few others sprinkled in. I built the rail station (being the first building of the new city), the first skyscraper of the city, the bridge crosses the river, all of the city’s lights and the sun sensors on them, a small diner, and a large tower at the north end of the canal. The resurgence lasted for awhile, but after a couple of months city activity dipped again to a low point. After the effort I put into the city and the community seemed to be for naught, I decided to become semi retired in Civclassic.

I opened up the largely unused lands of Impasse’s south east as the Impasse improvement zone in an effort to help neighboring cities that had just started out, and to help spur activity in the area. I did this as the last active member of the Impasse government (I was the Prime Minister), and also spurred off the areas around my farms in Impasse’s south east to form Nevrast which would be my side project if I ever wanted to build something on the server. A month or so after, New Impasse made another comeback this time rebranding as Corvus, and using a flag I designed. I continued to be friends with the people in the city from the occasional times I was on. This includes constructing the plaza outside the palace for Corvus, and building a house for Roguex7. Around this time as well, I was becoming more connected to Varkonia as well, as they were directly south of me. This culminated in a meme post on reddit after a night of drinking that linked our countries together. This post was full of memes, but some people took it very seriously, including many in Corvus. The following days were full of “leaders” of Corvus wanting to talk to me privately on the matter through discord, constantly asking questions on what exactly Nevrast was, was I being serious, and if I was actually not a part of Corvus any more. This was a considerable amount of time after its founding. During all of this I was still allowed in the city, and took part in several events that happened there, and was asked by Evo to help with the design of the wall that would be on the surface near the trench. I wasn’t a part of Varkonia, just friends with some of the people who lived there since 2.0. After several days of continuous questioning and accusations, I decided to stop playing almost completely for the summer except for occasional stops on to see if my builds were damaged, etc.

At the end of the summer due to me having more time available, I decided to play casually again. I traveled to Corvus to see how the town was doing, and found that I was locked out. I simply considered that the doors group must have changed, and asked for the doors group on their discord. I was not greeted as a friend. I was told that I was not a citizen, but an outsider who was not welcome. I was not allowed to take my things out of the city, nor allowed to enter in any fashion. They also tried to have me sign a document saying I wouldn’t enter the city in any of the easy to break in ways. This was also after I was told that many of the things I had contributed to the city were in fact not done by me, but someone else. After this confrontation, I was pushed to join Varkonia in an attempt to help protect my builds, as Corvus was acting very belligerent to me. I did not join them before this point in time.

Some time down the road, with no incident I was moving accounts of mine around in order to start using some of my farms again. I logged into one to find it still logged out in Corvus, as I was not allowed to move it out. I logged out of the account after finding out that the pit I was trying to suicide into was converted into a vault hole. When I logged back in I was jumped by Evo, and rain_of_fire6 and I was instantly vaulted. I was eventually freed, but my items not returned.

Since this incident, I have had to deal with constant incursions into Nevrast by bands of 2-3 Corvus citizens on alts claiming to be from other countries. These include some known alts, such as when Roguex7 entered Nevrast on an alt account with two other Corvus alts. He continuously lied to me about who he was, despite me knowing his account. I built his house in Corvus. This has gone on for some time, and has not slowed down after Corvus’ post about wanting peace, and respecting borders. I have continued to find snitches placed by their accounts in Nevrast, and have on one special occasion had to run for my life from a Covus alt, Mikhail_Smirnov.

I have not aggressed against Corvus in any way, have not attacked any of these people who come into Nevrast, nor have I done anything that I feel warrants their repeated “visitations” into Nevrast. I simply tell them to leave, and they usually don’t. I wait until they have their fill of whatever brought them to Nevrast, and I dig up their snitches later.

What truly saddens me as that these are my friends who are doing this to me. The people I have played years with. The people I built houses for. The friends I tried to bring back to relive the good times with. They now feel that it is alright to lie directly to me now that I am the “other”. They harass me, tell me that they’re someone else, and that nothing I have done was actually done by me. I can’t visit the city I put so much effort into creating, I can’t remove the things I had in the city, nor can I even enter its borders. They however feel that they can do it to me. I don’t know what to say to these people other than, I’m sorry I was your friend.
