Free Bastions!
Post Body

Nations of Civclassic,

Not through isolation, speeches, public condemnation, and inaction will the great conflicts of our times be decided, (that was the great miscalculation of the nations that preceded us), but by effort and diamond.

The people of Civcraft and her successor servers have long strived for a world of peace and diplomatic understanding; only to have their peaceful worlds crushed by invading armies for foreign lands or waves of invaders from outside servers. Some of those invaders have become civilized and integrated well into our server, while many either did not or they went into hiding, building up stockpiles of prot and weaponry waiting for the day to once again invade our beloved homelands. While this has happened many a time, the people of the server show no sign of fear or concern beyond the interests of their own cities, their own defense. I ask you this, do you remember when Orion fell? When CW fell? Do you remember the waters of Vale flowing for what seemed like forever? The server needs a strong, unified defense to prevent another Lexington, Nox, or HCF invasion from taking place. So what will we do? Will we help our friends and comrades, or sit idle and alone until it is too late?

We can work together to all our benefit. To create a better and safer world for our nations to thrive in. We can do this through cooperation and action before an invasion makes it a necessity. The SPQR wishes to take the first step in such an undertaking. It is with this in mind that I am announcing the Roman Organization for Improving Defense or ROID. Each civilization may request 1 city bastion for each citizen that lives within their territories. This means upon receiving a number from each nation, (which will remain confidential), that civ may come and pick up the bastions free of charge in order to prevent reinforced grief within their cities. This should allow for speedy cleanup of invasions in the future, and reduce the drop-off in server population that usually occurs.

Should your civ wish to help fund this project, all donations and volunteers are welcome. For those worrying about the catch, there is none. ROID will simply donate the materials, to be placed under whichever group you see fit within your city. SPQR's mission is to keep the server population from being decimated in a future invasion, nothing more.

I hope to be hearing from many of you and also hope that this first step opens up goodwill and further dialogue. It is our hope that together we can build a safer world for all of our nations.

Signed,

NovaCeasar
