After more than 5 years of civ, very little surprises me.

Yet events of late have left me astonished.

About a month ago I had some minor involvement in Lexington – I fixed a mushroom farm and AFK’d some cactus as quid pro quo for a press pass. As Lexington is a major world power, I wanted to ensure I had decent journalistic access. Lacking any willing correspondents I took it upon myself to do a little hands-on work. I was quite open about what I was up to at the time; it was no secret in the Commonwealth that I was occasionally in Lexington as part of my work.

This obviously occurred prior to war breaking out.

But it was not long before I found myself the subject of a witch hunt - the more paranoid and pitchfork penchant players plotted a pernicious plan to punish me for at worst a very minor transgression. I was stripped of my Commonwealth citizenship privileges and told to immediately leave town after an intense interrogation by Charlameme, Southshire’s legislative representative to the Commonwealth and someone whom I considered a likeable acquaintance. My attempts to offer explanation were dismissed as the mob grew louder.

Less than 24 hours later, the king of the Commonwealth, Brinton, cleared me of wrong doing and suspended the ‘investigation’. I expected that to be the end of what I felt was a truly trivial matter.

The backroom discussions about me didn’t end there though. Soon I was accused of being OJD, of botting for Lexington, of insiding the Commonwealth, of scheming with Saren Solaris – the list goes on. The truth has vanished into a seething mess of overstatements and overreaction, of sensationalised sordid secret schemes.

The level of distrust and hostility expressed to me by my supposed colleagues within the Commonwealth has shown a culture of hostility and suspicion; it is clear I’m no longer welcome. The willingness of people to push me off the edge has, well, pushed me off the edge.

There are of course a few players who have treated me with a consistent degree of respect and fairness. Sintralin has been one such player among others.

Inevitably there will be people saying this was planned, that I was a Lexington sympathiser all along. But this is simply not the case; this is just how it has unfolded.

I will answer specific factual questions anyone might have; however I’m not interested in any pathetic xavteresque moral high-horse stories of my dramatic decline and how disappointed you are in me.

The Dr Oracle of years past is gone. I doubt he will ever come back.
