Should I wait?

I bought the game as a pre-order, but I've actually only had time to play one short game since then. I've read a LOT of negative feedback about the game so far - do you think there will be a patch to address some of the more glaring issues? Having accidentally missed the frenzy of playing after the launch, am I better of waiting a couple of months for a patch before I play at all?
