Can't deselect units upon loading a multiplayer save.

Running Gods and Kings (deselected BNW)
Whenever I load into the multiplayer game, a unit that needs orders is selected by default, however after issuing orders, and cycling to the next unit, the unit view of the previous unit is locked on my screen and the buttons don't work, not allowing me to progress the turns
How can I fix this?
