Citalopram and tics?
Post Body

So I’ve been in Citalopram for roughly 2.5 years, I started some time in my junior year of high school and I’ve been on 40mgs for most of that time. I’m on it to help with both my anxiety and depression after Zoloft didn’t work.

When I was first put on it I started to get tics whenever I got overwhelmed, more so my head jerking forward or backward uncontrollably. I brushed it off as anxiety tics since it only seemed to happen when I was overwhelmed.

They went away after a few months and they would come and go for months at a time. And gradually I developed new ones such as rabid blinking and sniffling.

I’m really bad with remembering to take my medication, I don’t think I’ve taken it for a couple days now and it seems like my tics have worsened but are fine when I’m busy/distracted.

Any thoughts/advice. I’m really not sure what to do at this point. I’m so tired of it 😭
