To give background, I've been a Sec Analyst for almost 4 years and did Desktop/Provisioning/Jr Admin support (which also got me my start with Security) for almost 3 before that. Work experience really helps you understand the questions. I'll be 30 next year and getting my CISSP was one of my big milestones to hit before the "dirty thirty". :)
The CISSP exam was one of hardest exams of my life! My exam was in the afternoon and I spent the morning reading through Conrad's 11th hour again and did a good skimming of the sunflower on the areas I thought I was weakest in.
Based on the NDA, I can't say too much, but the best advice I have is:
1. Patience! - It truly is a marathon, I spent over 5 hours. I paced myself took a break every 50 questions. Spent the last 1.5 hours reviewing my flags and ended it with around 40ish minutes to spare once I felt good.
2. Truly read it like a Manager! - All the options may suck and you have to choose the least suckiest, or the (ISC)2 answer. I feel like the Sybex practice questions helped me the most.
3. Believe in yourself! - Being perfectly honest, I felt better towards the end, but had a sinking suspicion that I was going to fail close. You better believe I was psyched once I read my printout!
I'll answer questions to the best of my ability! :)
