I've been working in various IT roles for 25 years and have an interest in moving into security. I'm going to take my entry level CC test in about an hours and have looked at some of the content for the CISSP and feel comfortable with it but my hesitation about starting the process is about wondering if my work experience would be accepted.
I have a bachelors in IT and have worked in user support roles, development, Operations management, Solutions Architect, business analyst and enterprise architect roles over my career. Some of that has included designing cloud solutions and security has been a big part of those but i haven't had any roles where I was directly doing what I would consider security work.
Is it enough to just consider security as part of your roles or does your expereince need to be more hands on?
