I got a circumcision and a vasectomy together on Wednesday, and while I feel like recovery is going along alright I do have some questions.
I noticed that my skin overlaps the glans about 1/3 of the way and the incision is covered. When I roll the skin back to expose the glans I notice that the area around the incision is damp, if I blot the area with toilet paper or a towel an off white substance comes off. The smell to best explain it is like a musky, sweaty, metallic (probably from the blood residue), but my wife and I both agreed that it didnāt āstinkā as one would think if it was infected? Should I be concerned? Should I be trying to keep the glans exposed while this heals?
The incision around the frenulum is showing these white blotches. Itās firm to the touch, in some areas it comes off, others it appears to be apart of the skin/frenulum. Im following up with my doctor either way, but curious if this is starting to become infected
Between feeling like I got kicked in the nuts from the vasectomy and with the incision I find it difficult going from any position to another (laying down/getting up, sitting to standing). I know everyone experiences things differently, but the pain levels havenāt subdued much since the operation, my doctor forgot to prescribe me pain meds, so Iāve only been taking 1,000mg of Tylenol. He prescribed me a pain med, but I wonāt take it because I donāt like addictive pain meds. So Iāll be continuing to take pain meds and ice at night since I am back to work.
Overall I am happy with the look of the procedure and canāt wait to take it for a spin. This is a very outside my comfort zone post, so apologies for the rambling.
