I didn’t know I was supposed to retract until I was 19, my foreskin was often dry and would crack with small cuts. This was probably due to poor hygiene mainly due to not retracting to pee/ejaculate but also not able to clean under the foreskin at all. From about 21 I realised I could retract although it was very tight, I would do so occasionally in a bath. I slowly retracted more and began stretching and the foreskin now moves back during sex by itself and I can easily retract. I still have scar tissue from when I had the small cuts and sometimes if there’s been a lot of sexual activity close to each other it can get inflamed, a little red and tight and small cuts can open up. And then I can’t retract for a few days. It lasts about 2-10 days and this happens less than it used to be but still 1-3 times a year.

A general doctor said there wasn’t any problem but I’ve never shown it when it was at its worst. He just gave me a mild steroid anti fungal cream. People online say it looks like balanitis and my glans is sometimes blotchy.

I am considering getting a circumcision but I know nothing about it, for example I didn’t know there was different types, so I don’t know what to get. Really I just want to scar tissue removed, so what is the least invasive surgery and what should I consider
