This shit has been all over Canadian news, of course, and has likewise found its way onto Reddit. From repeated postings in /r/Canada to /r/worldnews
Its just downright appalling.
There's tons of people who can't grasp concepts like criminal responsibility and how legal systems define murder, who can't read the fucking articles posted and act like "30 minute walks" mean he's free to just stop taking his medication and go anywhere, who spew "think of the victim!"mindlessly, and call for him to be locked up and the key thrown away. Everyone is an expert except the court and health professionals who oversaw Mr. Li and his case, who are just 'eggheads'.
Just take a look yourselves. Fortunately there's people fighting back against the madness, and this great rebuttal* was the highest voted in one of the R/Canada submissions, but there's still tons of crap especially in r/world news.
I may be a bit guilty of kneejerking to an opinion I don't like, something I usually criticise around here, but there's still lots of typical Reddit acting like they're the expert jerking, so I think its a valid submission. I'd like to hear your thoughts on it, regardless.
*sans the Yankee comment, was a bit unnecessary.
