Aloha all!
This summer, I'll be traveling to Japan with a touring Kabuki performance. They want to put together a BTS/documentary thing. I'm looking for gear recommendations.
I don't want to haul a "real" camera along. I've got JVC GY-HC500 and Sony FX6 cameras available, but that seems like too much. This is a college thing, a student production. I'm thinking about finding a decent palmcorder in UHD, something like Canon Vixia or Sony Handycam. Maybe a mirrorless. I'd like to keep the budget around $2,000,all-in. That would include spare batteries, adapters, media, etc.
Maybe another $1,000 on "other." Travel tripod, mics, cases, lighting, power.
I'd like ot all to fit in my carry-on allotment, although my wife could schlep some too if needed.
Think "prosumer" or "hobbyist." What kit would you build for $3K?
