So into early prep for a doc shoot coming down the line, and it's going to be in a relatively remote area - i.e. not easy to shuttle gear in and out of. The crew will be me, Producer, Director and maybe a sound person. We have only what we can really feasibly travel in there ourselves, and the idea is to be as inconspicuous as possible: so no huge multi-camera setups, not massive lighting setups etc.
As someone who is generally of the 'available light? Yeah, all the light that is available on the truck' school of thought (let me caveat by saying I'm not anti-available light, but I prefer to not rely on it), and knowing that I won't have much time, equipment or ability to rig spaces with neg fill, or even much in the way of lighting, I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts/recommendations as to one or two lights that might be easy to travel with? I'm not sure I can even really bring a heap in the way of stands (not only will it be tricky to travel them in, but again the whole inconspicuous thing).
I'm thinking maybe a couple small tube lights to give me something because I can probably run them off internal batteries, control them with my phone and rig them pretty easily using things like cable ties, or even Joby pods.
Any ideas? Or should I just embrace the nature of it and go without?
