I know this topic may be one that gets brought up somewhat frequently here, and Iām sorry for that. I did search the sub for ābarbershopā but I am sort of looking for something specific and didnāt find it that way.
My boyfriend needs to see a barber. He is in his early 30s and has what I believe is maybe 4c hair. (Please forgive me, I am not the best at identifying hair types.) It is a bit of a struggle for him in terms of grooming, and I know it bothers him. He keeps it clean, itās not dirty at all, he just has a hard time picking it out/keeping up with the tangles. He is also balding a bit which he is understandably a bit shy about.
He needs to see someone who can take care of the tangles, recommend a good cut/style to work around his balding areas, and also recommend appropriate products for his hair type. (Shampoo, conditioner, maintenance products, etc. Maybe even something to help with hair loss?) He deals with a lot of things through humor and every time I try to nudge him to find a barber, he just jokes that any barber is just gonna tell him it all needs to be shaved off. I think heās actually afraid that will happen and doesnāt want to go because of that. He is also in desperate need of a beard trim and perhaps even some beard maintenance products as well.
Iām not sure if this is too much to ask of one barber or team at a shop, but I figured I would just reach out to ask for recommendations and see what you guys have to say. Iām on my ault account as he knows my main and I donāt want to risk embarrassing him in any way, even though I personally donāt think he has anything to be embarrassed about and love the way he looks regardless. But I want to help him address these issues if I can. We are actually around the Wilmington area but I am more than willing to travel to Cincinnati, northern Kentucky, Dayton, etc to get him to the right person.
Thank you for any suggestions you can give!
