I went to Sint Maarten last month for my honeymoon. I was at the Buccaneer Bar in Simpson Bay having some drinks. I noticed on their menu that they had cigars. I asked the bartender about the cigars and he brought over a humidor loaded with cigars. I expected Cubans but none of them were. There was a band on the cigars that I didn't recognize. When I looked closer I noticed the brand name DAS. Turns out these are locally grown and rolled cigars on Sint Maarten. I gave one of their Robusto's a shot and to my surprise it was very very good.
When I returned home I had a craving for another one of these DAS cigars but I couldn't find them on any online stores. After doing some digging I found their facebook page and got in contact with the owner. They sell them in 25 count boxes at a pretty decent price. I'm hoping to order some soon and possibly send some out for others to try out.
I feel as though if these cigars were more accessible they would be a favorite to many. Hopefully this intrigues some people to give them a try. Unfortunately their website is down but their Facebook "DAS Cigars" is up and running.
