Does anyone have any experience freeze distilling their cider?
Post Body

I have a friend that owns a apple orchard and he said I can have all the “thirds” I want. Thirds to him are apples that are a bit dinged up so he can’t sell them but are still fine to be pressed. I was wondering if anyone here has freeze distilled before or if there are any varieties that taste better than others. He has an industrial Apple masher and press he said I could use all day on Wednesday. I’m guessing I will be able to fill two food grade drums pretty easy so I want to know what I’m doing before I head over there. There is no way I’ll be able to drink that much hard cider even if I gave a ton of it away so I was thinking about trying something diffident and freeze distilling it. The hardest part is going to be pasteurizing everything.
