I'm based in the UK and technically don't have a source of apples available to me. I currently brew some hald decent cider from concentrate juice (from the supermarket) and am in the process of making that more tasty.
I feel as though pressing my own apples for cider would be fun and yeild a better flavour for cider. The only problem is sourcing the apples in an affordable way. I have been looking for "pick your own" orchards, whole salers (who don't show their price on their website) and then bulk sellers. It seems pretty difficult to get 5L of juice for anywhere under £30. (Which is going to be between 8kg and 10kg of apples).
That's before the cost of renting a press (I could hunt for one to use for free).
Any help appreciated!
