The state of healthcare nowadays is just sad
Post Body

How is it that when I go to the doctor and complain of extreme fatigue and hair loss they donā€™t even know what labs to order? I asked if she could please order some bloodwork, and she literally stated, ā€œIā€™m not sure what to order.ā€ The only labs she ended up ordering were a few I asked for (she wouldnā€™t even do more than 10). The results came back abnormal (e.g. strongly positive ANA marker for autoimmune disorder) yet they just said if you want to try and find out more about it go to a different doctor. Iā€™m tired of visiting 20 different specialists just to be told they donā€™t know either and to go to someone else. So why canā€™t they run autoimmune panels? As someone in college studying medicine, Iā€™m beyond disappointed in the healthcare system nowadays. Why does the PATIENT have to be the one to suggest what the doctor should look for or order. My family always says ā€œjust go to the doctor youā€™re always so negativeā€ whenever I mention my debilitating fatigue. But they donā€™t understand that every single time I go I come out knowing less than I went in knowing. I give up on the healthcare system. Unless the answers are screaming out in front of their faces, unless youā€™re actively dying, unless THEIR license is as risk they donā€™t care about chronic fatigue. Shameful
