(Android) Tab "List View' replaced with Grid View

My tab view changed to Grid today and I can't figure out how to get back the normal list view. I'm on v118. So far I've tried:

- the "simplified view for open tabs" option under settings>accesibility. It seems to be GONE, nowhere to be seen.
- chrome://flags and using the search bar with "enable-tab" , "tab layout", "grid", "tab". Didn't find anything relevant. I also enabled the options to enable settings from V117 and V116
- Searching the sub for more information (All I found was https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome/comments/15d3vtj/android_tab_list_view_is_suddenly_gone/ )

Did this happen to anyone else? Anyone know of a way to get it back? I really hope I don't have to switch browsers over this, but the grid view feels completely unusable.
