I have my medical for my permanent resident visa tomorrow, and up until today everyone (who hasn't actually done it themselves) told me it's very fast and not much too it. Today I spoke with a guy who actually has done it and he said from memory it was very involved and seemed to be very thorough. But his memory is crap. Have you done it? Is it clear enough what to do and where to go? (In Beijing) And of course, do I need to leave stool or urine samples, and anything else on the more deeply personal side of things? (Male)
EDIT: In case anyone searches this in the future. In Beijing it was:
Blood
Chest X-ray
EKG
Blood pressure and weight
Ultrasound of stomach (just lift your shirt)
I made an appointment but the guys behind me had just rocked up. Gates were locked until 12:55. Go inside and get a number at the machine. Security guard gives them out from the machine then register and pay to the left of the machine, then go to the floors shown on the piece of paper they will give you. The actual rooms are marked clearly from the top of the escalators. Took me a total of 30 minutes.
