For some background, SO (38F) and I (38M) have been together for 18 years come January. She is the eldest grandchild in her family. She has said since she was 16 that she didn't want kids. When we got together that didn't change. We have lived a great life together so far, being CF. We'll, she has over 20 growths all over her insides, have been waiting a few years (canadian health care is a bitch and covid messed shit up as well) but she is now finally getting a full hysterectomy this Friday (Dec 23rd) to rid her of the pain she's been dealing with. So we did the family Xmas thing at her parents yesterday, in which we called the grandparents across the country to say hi and merry Xmas to. At some point this sweater got brought up. Granny made it long ago. It's been passed through all the family for what ever kid to wear that it fit at the time. Of COURSE, granny has to bring up my SO being the FIRST grand child, and our kid would have worn it FIRST if we had any. Lady. We have been together 18 years. Her shit is getting ripped out in 5 days. Just let it the fuck go already. It doesn't help that a couple of her cousins have had multiple "mistakes" and granny is now stuck taking care of them part time. They expected us to be the "proper ones" and have children they could love. Too bad, so sad.
