Hi all, I’m 26F and have been through nearly all forms of birth control, for each of which I’ve experienced ‘side effects’ that supposedly only affect <1-5% of users, according to my doctors. Three different kinds of pills gave me a mix of dihirrea, migraines, severe abdominal pain, and nausea/vomiting. Nexplanon implant made it so I was continuously bleeding throughout the entire time I had it in — nearly 1 year. Copper IUD had me in the ER the day after insertion from the worst pain I’ve ever experienced, I thought I had appendicitis, though it was inconclusive as to whether it was a ruptured ovarian cyst or something else. It fell out a couple of days later.
I don’t want to have kids of my own and am interested in getting tubal ligation. However, I’m afraid that there could be some kind of side effect that then would not be reversible. Please let me know if you can share any insight about side effects, sensitivity, etc. Thanks!
