Just adding this for anyone who is looking for bi-salp experiences.
I am 25, no kids, chronic illness, immunosuppresssed.
Dr. Wollenschlaeger in Maitland, FL performed my surgery. I found him on this subreddits doctor list. Consult was simple, no questions asked kind of guy.
Went for my surgery on 2/14. Super easy prep for the surgery, no eating at midnight… No drinking.
Arrived at 11am. I was immediately taken back to pre-op. Changed into the gown, peed in a cup and had an IV placed. They premedicated me with acetaminophen and roxabin (muscle relaxer). Met with anesthesia team, Dr. W and then was rolled back exactly on time at 1pm.
On the way into surgery they put Versed in my IV. It felt nice… I was floating… They told me to move from the gurney to the surgical table. Anoxygen mask was placed on my face, the anesthesia nurse asked me if I was ready and then I was asleep.
Woke up in recovery groggy. They gave me Dilaudid immediately without me asking. Felt some pain and they gave me another dose. No nausea, nothing.
I was rolled into another recovery area and observed for a bit. They gave me pictures of the procedure. A nurse came in and gave me my discharge paperwork. They didn’t need to wait for me to pee or anything.
I am not sure, I don’t think I had a catheter, at least my surgical procedure notes don’t say I did. Either way I had no issues peeing after.
I had an hour ride home which wasn’t so nice but I was really high on painkillers that had given me. When I got home, I stood up too straight and started crying. LOL. It really wasn’t that painful but I think I’m a pansie.
Needed help using the restroom that night. Gas pains were very bad for me but I have Crohn’s disease so anything relating to gas or anything that effects my digestive system or stomach probably hurts more than the average person.
The worst pain was the gas… The incisions and internal pain just feel like bruising. I took one day of oxycodone and then maybe one dose of acetaminophen yesterday.
Dr. W did an absolute amazing job with the incisions. They are tiny and clean. He used surgical glue. I have one in my belly button, one about a centimeter away from my left hip bone and one right above where my pubic hair grows.
MAKE SURE TO TAKE MIRALAX TO HELP THE BLOATING LOL!
Please let me know if you have any questions that will help your surgery experience!!
