my wife n I have had an expensive last year. Last November we went to Mexico for 2 weeks. had a blast! 2 weeks after coming home though, we discovered our furnace shit the bed ( we live in Canada so a furnace is kinda important to have) Being CF, we had the funds available to get the cheaper option of buying with cash. Then spring came, and guess what. Our house had leaks in the roof from snow melting. So now we have to drop even more cash for shingles. alright. we are a little tight, but will be fine. then covid came, wiping out any Overtime hours at my shop (I'm use to working 40reg 10 or so OT hours a week) Alright. We are still okay. My brother knows all of this. he has been living off child benefit cheque from the govt and also CERB cheques (or govt form of helping people during covid) because he hasn't worked since 6 months prior to covid shutdown. he was basically earning what he would normally working fulltime. well. i find out from him that he is about to get his vehicle repo'd for not paying. he is asking me to help him out. I again go through this list of costs we have had (damn near $16,000 if you count the trip) in less than 5 months. I explain we are tight already and no way could I help him out. all he could say to me was "well at least you don't have 4 mouths to feed". I had to correct him on that because I do in fact have 4 other mouths to feed, 2 dogs and 2 cats. He says, that the kids should be more important to me because I'm their uncle. I said I barely know them because I actively avoid seeing all of them (oldest is 9) and that was a you problem because as you chose to have 4 fucking kids, I chose to adopt 4 animals, and I don't see how you not having a vehicle, makes it that they will starve. the grocery store is across the damn street. He hung up in a pissy mood, and I haven't heard from him in 5 days now. its been nice.
