Anyone else zone out when people start talking about their kids?

Post Body

Pretty new to this subreddit so apologises this has probably been discussed before but just need a little vent.

My partner and I have been together for over 10 years. We’re both perfectly happy being CF. Although I do have fatherly instincts now and again I have a niece and a nephew and that’s enough for me.

I see my (weed) dealer about once a week. When he comes over he likes to stay for a chat and a joint which is cool, I appreciate that he drops off so I don’t have to collect.

Ever since he’s had his kid though, whenever he comes over the conversation inevitably ends up reverting to his child. I try not to mind and stay interested, but honestly inside I’m screaming “shut the fuck up, no one cares about your cum dump”.

Then obviously you have to pretend to be interested so you end up getting the full fucking weekly schedule, For example:

“yeah we went for a meal on Saturday, she did nothing but scream and play up the entire time there. So we decided to come home early”.

I honestly have to zone out due to getting worked up from having to repeatedly hear about how much “hard but rewarding work it is”.

Im pleased he has what he wants out of life. Which is literally the force fed Job, House, wife, kid, white picket fence agenda, but personally that is my idea of hell.

Anyway sorry about that, rant over.
