Yesterday in work I was talking to one of my colleagues who's daughter was starting primary school yesterday & she was ranting about the price of a full school uniform for her & her brother. Most parents I know buy polo shirts, trousers, skirts ect. from supermarkets and it works out quite reasonable, but then they have to factor in school shoes, bag & lunchbox (usually labelled with the latest fad like Fortnite) & coat, but the price goes up quite a bit when most of the primary & high schools require parents to buy polo shirts, blazers, ties, jackets and even gym shorts or sweatpants with the school logo embroidered on it. Her daughter is small enough in height that she wears a size 2 - 3 & the school blazer all the kids are required to wear starts at size 5 - 6 which drowns the poor wee soul. After tallying up the cost of both kids full back to school kits she had spent almost £200.
It got me thinking of all the things I could & have spent that amount of money on. She was not pleased when I mentioned that the most recent big concert I went to that I also purchased VIP for came to less than what she spent on their uniforms. What would you spend £200 on since we don't need to buy back to school stuff or uniforms?
