I've been working at the same gas station for 2 years now and this tall drink of water comes in about twice a week. Has been after me since the moment he saw me and hasn't let up. He was not aware that I have a boyfriend because I try to keep my work life and personal life separate as I do not owe anyone an explanation for anything. He's pretty good looking but sometimes he brings his 4ish year old daughter with him. I can tell by comments he has made about her that he didn't want her and/or he has baby mama drama. Well, this convo ensued last week and I haven't seen him since.

Guy: So, you should let me take you out sometime!

Me: I'm at work and I'm really not interested.

Guy: why not?

Me: please don't dig because you won't like the answer. (I was getting annoyed at his insistence)

Guy: I want to know why you won't give me a chance.

Me: (smiles) If you insist! (Clears my throat) I don't date guys with kids.

His eyes go wide and his mouth opens a bit so I hand him his change and bid him farewell.

A few days later my assistant manager (who I'm pretty close with) comes into work and as soon as he sees me he gets this evil little smile on his face. He goes to the back, clocks in and immediately comes to the front to spill the tea. Let's just call my boss AM.

Me: what's going on?

AM: that hot guy that's all in love with you came in and we had an interesting conversation.

Me: (rolls my eyes) oh geez....

AM: He asked me why you won't date him and why you hate kids so much.

Me: are you freaking kidding me?! What did you say?!

AM: I laughed and told him that you don't hate kids at all. You don't have any for a reason, you don't want anyone that you date to expect that you take care of their kids and that you have a boyfriend that shares your views anyway. He didn't say shit after that and left. Sorry, for involving your personal life but that shit is annoying and he needs to back off.

I was completely blown away that he asked my boss about our exchange earlier that week. Is it THAT hard for people to understand that I don't want kids and I have made the decision not to date anyone that has them?
