edit: I AM GETTING MY STERILIZATION!
I just got off the phone with someone from the sterilization board, and I was told Iām getting a meeting with them in November!
Some info: To get sterilized in Norway, you have to be 25 years old. Exceptions can be made, which is where our sterilization board comes in. Now, Iām not 100% sure if Iām translating that correctly (Norwegian word would be āsteriliseringsnemdā), so please correct me if Iām wrong. The sterilization board is made up of doctors, and I have to convince them that this is right for me.
I am 21 years old. Therefore, Iām going to have to fight for my sterilization. I know that I never wish to be pregnant. Should I ever change my mind about having children, Iām certain that I would want to foster. Having a child of my own is out of the question, since I have lots of health issues I wouldnāt want to pass on.
I have heard that a bilateral salpingectomy could prevent ovarian cancer, is this something I could use to strengthen my case? Many of my aunts and uncles (on both sides) has had, or have died of cancer.
The meeting will consist of me, and three people from the board. I have a slight fear of strangers, so Iām worried my agoraphobia will make it seem like Iām not certain about my decision to get sterilized.
Thank you for reading!
